CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change is drastically changing our surroundings and quality of life.
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are rising and they are over 50% higher than in 1990. This will cause irreversible consequences to our ecosystem if we do not take action now. A typical vehicle is responsible for around 29% of GHG per year which is A LOT less than a building, which generates nearly 40% of annual GLOBAL GHG through HVAC, lighting, waste, water usage and more…
♻️ Building my photography studio in a cargo trailer was a great way for my business to create less of a carbon footprint as a whole.
LOCALLY SOURCED
Most of the products we consume travel long distances before we buy them. Can you imagine how much fossil fuel is burned to distribute products all around the world?
♻️ I make sure to only source local products from a Canadian Professional’s Photo Lab and have the products shipped straight from the lab to my clients.
Typically, products purchased would be shipped to the photography studio to be inspected, then repackaged and shipped to the client.
Having the products drop-shipped straight to my clients helps reduce fossil fuel burned during shipping and reduces packaging waste.
♻️ I use animal treats purchased from local businesses during my sessions to promote and develop the local economy and reduce environmental impacts associated with the transportation of goods.
REUSABLE FRIENDLY
Canadians produce a lot of plastic waste, an estimated 3.3 million tonnes per year.
In Canada, more than one-third of our plastics are created for single-use products or packaging.
It is a major challenge to recycle the enormous amount of waste we produce. So, the best way to reduce waste is to not produce it in the first place whenever possible.
♻️ Gift Cards, Product Guides, Information Booklets, Invoices, Receipts, Digital files are all created, distributed and shared online to reduce the environmental impact caused by waste disposal.
♻️ Little to no props purchased to use during photography sessions.
CRUELTY FREE
Animal cruelty is hidden in the production of many items we purchase, such as food, cosmetics, and cleaning products. These range from animals living in tiny cages and overfeeding to experiments that cause pain, suffering, or lasting harm.
♻️ Unleash Pet Photography contributes to animal protection by getting involved in the community to help spread the word, by donating money and fundraising.
